Hi all it’s that time again. Hope everyone had a fantastic Easter Break.
I had a fantastic response from our first Newsletter so a big thanks to everyone.
Also just want to say a big thanks to all those that attended our picnic at Bea Craigs – we couldn’t have had better weather if we tried it was a glorious day and it was so good to meet up with everyone and meet the children.
Re events coming up – apologies for mucking up the Men’s day out. I’ve amended it below hope some or all can make it.
I’ve now included a new Training Section on the Newsletter to let you know of any courses etc coming up – if you know of any yourself, please feel free to get in touch and we will get it included.
I hope you all find this 2nd Newsletter just as useful and don’t forget to keep updating me with anything you want to see on the Newsletters and in the group.

AMENDMENT - SATURDAY 20th JUNE 2009 – Men’s Day Out - Fancy some Bowling!!!
Ten-Pin Bowling at Fountain Park Bowling, Edinburgh – looking to kick this off about 2/3pm but will confirm times when I know who would like to attend – if you feel you would like it to start later or earlier drop me an email as the timings can be flexible as long as I have enough time to book in advance and know the exact numbers going and amount of lanes I have to book. WEDNESDAY 8TH JULY 2009 – COFFEE MORNING – AT ST ANDREW’S OFFICES 10AM – 12 NOON
I know it’s the summer holidays but just thought I’d book this in, in case anyone fancies a cuppa and a chat – can you drop Shona an email if you might be interested in coming to get an idea of numbers etc. I’ll be booking more dates with St Andrew’s for the future so if you can’t make this one, look out for later ones in the next Newsletter.

SUNDAY 19th JULY 2009 – Anyone for some Fruit Picking and Fun – Cairnie Fruit Farm, Cupar Fife
This place is great for picking your own fruit to finding your way through the mega maze and other activities. Not to mention the great farm shop and tearoom – I think there’s something for everyone at this farm.
There is an admission charge of £15 for 4 people of which one of the four must be an adult. However, they offer a 15% discount on the admission charges for group bookings.

FREE DAYS OUT
Muiravonside Country Park – between Bathgate and Falkirk is great for a free family day out. The park has a great country walks and stunning views, also has a small farm with a couple of horses, chicken and rabbits – would be great for small group outings
Gardening Scotland 2009 is back at the Royal Highland Centre Ingliston running from 29 – 31 May – ALL CHILDREN GO FREE.
Bike Week – 13-21 June – the UK’s biggest mass participation cycling even is this year challenging families to get more active - there are events taking please all over Scotland ranging from cycle training and Dr Bike sessions for novices, the commuter challenges and group rides around local cyle routes – all are free – and many are geared to the varying levels for family – to find out whats happening around your area visit www.bikeweek.org.uk and just enter your postcode

TRAINING COURSES
I thought this section may be useful to let people know of any training courses coming up.
To kick it off I’ve attached a Training Workshop that’s coming up from AUK that might be of interest to some people – if you want to attend, please contact AUK direct to book your place – booking info is on the attached flyer.
ANYTHING ELSE
Still looking for some feedback from people re the possibility of organizing speakers, workshops that you may find useful – if you have any suggestions drop me a line – and I’ll look into the possibilities re costs/venues etc and keep you updated in the next newsletter.
